about
The Berkshire County Boxing Hall of Fame was founded in April of 2017 in an effort to fill the void of recognizing all of the talented fighters (professional, amateur and exhibition) along with boxing trainers, managers, journalists and other participants and contributors, that have represented Berkshire Country during their storied careers in the world of boxing.
The sport of boxing has a very rich tradition within the cities and towns of Berkshire County. A history that dates back to the late 1800's. From events taking place at the old Auditorium in downtown Pittsfield, MA, the Armory in North Adams, MA and legendary Wachonah Park in Pittsfield, MA, Berkshire County has been home to some epic boxing matches throughout the past century.
Not to mention, there have been many fighters and trainers that have come through the area… Fighters that have won, and competed for, legitmate world championship titles and golden gloves titles, in their respective divisions. Legendary Berkshire County pugilists such as, Dave Shade, Gail Grandchamp, Eddie Spence, Al Romano… And the list goes on!
All formal induction ceremonies will take place at the historic Highland Restaurant in Pittsfield, MA to honor and commemorate all future hall of fame classes.
